Okay, here's the basics:

- College: the incomparable Occidental College, English Lit cum laude, departmental honors, minor in Classics. '00
- Grad School: Stanford University, MA in Communications, '01.

Miscellaneous Cool/Interesting Stuff:
- I've done NaNoWriMo each year since 2001, and won each time.
- I was once a member of the Peter Wingfield Fan Club and met most of my cool middle-aged friends and my roommate from 05/04-05/06 (who is in her 70s) there.
- I'm a terrible net addict, on WAY too many email lists (and moderator/owner of three Yahoo!Groups).
- I have two cats (more on them below).
- Darth Vader is my hero, my favorite character of all time, and was my first crush. Yes, I'm weird that way.
- I'm frequently talented at things I hate (physics, for example).
- I've studied Latin, Greek, and Spanish but am losing (or have already lost!) all three.
- I like making crazy Halloween costumes.
- When my fiance wanted to know what stones I wanted in my engagement ring, I told him alexandrite and moissanite and he thought that was awesome. Yes, we're dorks.
- I have fibromyalgia but don't let it slow me down any more than absolutely necessary.
- I once had a dermoid ovarian cyst removed from my guts. I wanted to keep it, but the surgeon said no.
- I helped found and served as editor-in-chief of The Red Pages, a fanzine for the band Red Elvises.
My pets:
I've had a number of pets over the years. Some have passed on, unfortunately, but others are still around. I've documented most of them pretty well over at my Flickr account, so here are links to see photos and read about them.- Darth - My dog from the time I was 12 until he died when I was 24. I still miss him. He was a great dog.
- Pippi - My second pony, the one I had during grade school.
- Shane - My third pony, from the time I was about 12 until I gave him to Mom to use for teaching kids to ride.
- Sunny - My beloved cat from the age of 6 until he died when I was 25.
- Mauser - One of my current cats. I got him as a kitten when my aunt found him hiding in a Los Angeles alley.
- Zephyr - My other current cat. I got him as a kitten from the Stanford Cat Network.
I've also had rats and I currently keep fish.
