Monday Madness Dear GOD, I

Monday Madness
Dear GOD, I go away for the weekend and there’s so much to take care of, I really need a whole weekend to do it all. That just figures.
Top five things I need to do in the next 24 hours:

  1. Fold laundry
  2. Do laundry
  3. Read and reply to the 300 or so email messages I got
  4. Work on the MUSD website.
  5. Rearrange my desk to put my brand new Pip, Merry, and Sam action figures on display.

Yep, folks, I am now the proud owner of three of the four Hobbit action figures! YAY!!! Oo, gotta update my wishlist too. I would have all four but my incredibly cool aunt and uncle couldn’t find Frodo. That’s ok, I can probably order him online or something. VERY COOL!!! They also gave me the thoroughly nifty Middle Earth Map Hanging Thing. It’s a print on silk with tapestry hangers on it. Whoooooo hoooooo!!! Too cool.
What else happened this weekend… Saw The Red Elvises at Rusty’s, which has (imo) gone downhill since I was last there. Conrad, a cool dude from Las Vegas and a friend of my Aunt’s went with me. That was a fun evening.
Played Lord of the Rings with my aunt, uncle, and a friend of theirs. Much fun – said friend has a Nazgul/Hobbit deck like me, and it was interesting to see how he used his. Was also educational, having to face Nazgul, which isn’t something I usually have to do.
O! I saw the new trailer for The Two Towers!! Parts of it were very cool, some things were not so cool.
Cool things:

  • Seeing new shots of Pippin.
  • Seeing a superfast shot of Fangorn.
  • Legolas in the rain at Helm’s Deep
  • Gandalf the White!!!
  • New shots of Pippin and Merry.
  • Shot of Aragorn picking up the leaf brooch – my fellow Pip fans will know why that’s cool.
  • Aragorn looking studly.
  • New shots of Pippin!!!

Hey, I have to be stoked over that last one, I’ve got all his scenes in Fellowship of the Ring memorized.
OK, will now sign off with a quick Monday Mission:

1. When was the last time you wanted someone to take you seriously but they just humored you?
Hm… I’m pretty sure I can’t remember. It’s hard to say, as my friends and I pretend pretty regularly that I want them to take me seriously and they are just humoring me.

2. If you were going to get a vanity license plate for your car, what would it say? (Or if you already have one, what does it
say?)

Hard one! Possibly UBERFAN.

3. What was written in the sweetest love note you were ever given? What’s the story there?N/A

4. What is your ethnic background?
German on Dad’s side (well, Old Country German and Pennsylvania Deutch), British Isles on Mom’s. Makes me fair-skinned as all get out, which is annoying in the summer.

5. What, if any, is your personal exercise routine?
I theoretically walk the dog 4 or 5 times a week and go to Aikido 2-3 times a week. In reality, I walk the dog once a week and go to Aikido 1-2 times a week.

6. Have you ever had any “one night stands?” How did that come about and how did you feel the next day?
Nope, sorry. I don’t think I could bring myself to sleep with someone I didn’t know. I’m not that desperate yet. :-)

7. What is your fondest Easter memory?
Easter-egg hunts as a kid.
