PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 3.16

This week’s Monday Mission.

1. Now that the weather (in America, that is) is getting nice and warm, what have you been looking forward to doing the most?
I don’t actually like warm weather all that much. Although I suppose I do look forward to the pool parties my pals have. They’re enough fun to make up for the misery of summer heat.

2. Do you enjoy spending time with your family (parents, siblings, etc.) or do you prefer to see them now and then?
Varies. Sometimes it’s a total nightmare, hanging out with my family. I think things are best when I live on my own and see them for special occasions once every month or two, really. We get on each others’ nerves otherwise.

3. Did your parents play along with the whole “Easter Bunny” legend? Did you eventually figure it out or did someone tell you? How did that make you feel?
Nope, they didn’t. We had Santa Claus at my house but Easter was always a religious holiday.

4. This isn’t necessarily a religious question (although it certainly can be if you’d like), but what does “Easter” mean to you personally?
Now, it’s mostly a symbol to me of the mixing of religions and the hypocrisy of the Christian church. I mean, so many of the trappings of Easter are pagan, but the average Christian either has never heard about where the bunny/egg/flower symbolism originated or will try to convince you otherwise if you tell them. sigh.

5. Do you have any funny or memorable Easter stories?
Not really, although the fact that I usually got dressed u pin fancy, frilly pastel dresses for Easter would probably amuse the hell out of most of my friends.

6. Is there anything you do too much of and just can’t stop?
Hm… not really, I don’t think. Possibly online stuff – my website is unmanageably huge and disorganized because I can’t bear to delete the old stuff and I keep finding myself making new pages when something strikes my fancy. Ditto with email lists – I join them when I’m on a weird kick and then can’t quite bear to unsubscribe even when I don’t have time to keep up with them.

7. Long ago, I took a leadership seminar. At one point the leader gave his philosphy on life: the three things that matter most in life are “your family, your religion and your job, and what they mean to you.” Would you agree? What are the three things that matter most in life?
I’d have to say that’s a very typical take on things. I think the three things that matter most to me personally are the people I care about (bf, family, friends), my creativity, and my spirituality. Job and religion, not so much. These days my jobs are more ways to make money than anything actually fulfilling, and organized religion lost its appeal for me something like seven or eight years ago. *shrug*
