The Dollhouse Murders: A Forensic Expert Investigates 6 Little Crimes
by Thomas Mauriello
This is a really interesting book. Read it in one sitting while I was home sick. Basically, this guy who teaches forensic science built six one-room dioramas to help his students learn to investigate crime scenes. This book has short stories describing how a good detective would investigate each one. So on the one hand it reads like a series of short mystery stories (set-up, investigation, conclusion - but all from the POV of the detective) but on the other hand it could easily be used as a reference for how this kind of thing works.
Really interesting if you like crime stuff.
