Discardia!!
A recent entry by Elke reminded me that Discardia is going on.
I am all for it.
In fact, I've gone so far as to make a list of all the folders and whatnot on my site here -- and started going through and deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. A lot of the folders in the fan section are marked "scrap." Of the 16 files/groups, 5 are marked "scrap" and 6 are marked "dunno."
It makes me a little nostalgic, I guess, for the days when I was such a passionate fangirl that every new obsession was an excuse to do another website. I’m still a big fangirl, but I just don’t have the time to make new sites, let alone keep up the old ones. I have to look at the things I’m really passionate about and keep those sites up – my booklog, my reviews, this blog, and so on. Some of my old fansites merit keeping because I’m still active in the fandom, but that’s only the case for a couple of them.
I’m such a pack rat that getting rid of stuff makes me anxious… yet when I finally do knuckle down and start chucking things, I can go a little crazy. I love the comfort of knowing I have all kinds of random crap on hand if I want it, but what are the chances that I’ll want all those ancient space legos? Or that I’ll use all the random craft crap I have in the garage?
I think starting with my online stuff and moving into my other belongings and just purging the stuff I don’t need is a great idea. Material posessions are great… if you actually need/use them. Hanging onto heirlooms is one thing, but I have something like 20 boxes of crap in storage. I don’t need THAT much. Geez.

Umm can I have all your legos? Don't throw those out! I'll give you... umm... support for your perl...

Well, IF I decide to chuck 'em, I'll let you know. :)

You're not going to dispose of your shrine of villainy, are you? Particularly not the bits and pieces that speak of my master, right? He'd be a bit irked and I'd have to hear about it.

Don't worry, Klaus, I wouldn't dare get rid of anything with Lucard on it. At most I will be archiving the Shrine and removing the "suggest new entries" link.
