OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!1111eleventyone11!bang!

I saw "Batman Begins" last night.

It was unbelievably cool and awesome and fantastic. I totally fangirled out afterwards.

Seriously.

It is really super-cool.

I don't know the comics well enough to say how it ranks in terms of the canon, but OH MY GOD IT WAS SO COOL!!

And the script didn't make me groan or roll my eyes even once, which is really saying something. Even the Spider-Man movies, which rock my world, make me gag in spots (MaryJane, I am looking at you!). But not BB. It rocked my world.

Also: Gary Oldman as a good guy! Not a slimeball! Wow!

Yeah, I've always been impressed with Gary Oldman. "Immortal Beloved" is one of my all-time favorite films. He's very versatile, but I think he got typecast by films like "Air Force One."

Yeah, the previews and buzz on this film sounds great. Looking forward to it!

I caught it last night at the downtown IMAX.

A man with a clipboard asked what I thought on the way out. So I told him, st length. I told him the car chases were not to my taste, and that Christain Bale's mugging (which I'm sure he was directed to do) was a little much, but far more conservative than I'd feared. I told him that I hated Burton's Batman films (at which point he blanched, and I feared would faint), and that Joel Shumaker should be stoned with stones for what he did (at which he smiled and enthusiastically agreed), but this film was exactly right. They got to the heart of his motivation and pain. We saw why he's called the "Dark Knight."

However... That fucking IMAX theatre is horrible. My back was in so much pain. I had to prop myself up on my neck to see the film projected on the dome ceiling, and what I could see was warped.

But the film makes up for the last four.

& yes, I Love the Adam West Batman.

Hello there:)

I've browsed your blog here a couple of times and I will say that I do love your movie reviews. Very stylistic, witty, with enough sass to put some of the mainstream movie reviewers to shame. I have not seen the new Batman movie, however the previews look very intense. I do look forward to reading your review on Batman.

On another unusual note, have you noticed how the Hollywood studios are going back to the comics for movie material? We've had the two Spiderman blockbusters come out over the last couple of years, the new Batman Begins came out last week, and the two X-Men movies (with a third one in the making). Of course, Hollywood is putting the finishing touches on The Fantastic Four. And now Superman, the most famous comic book character, is returning with his blue tights and red cape to a theater near you in 2006.

With all these superhero characters running around on the big screen, I'm wondering if Hollywood has scraped the bottom of the file cabinet. What's left? Mighty Mouse? Underdog? Super Chicken?

I saw BB at the late show tonight - all I can say is : WOW! WOW WOW WOW!

They've finally nailed it! I was very disillusioned by the whole movie franchise (the first one was the best - all the others sucked) and wasn't planning on seeing it 'til I saw the reviews and reckoned that something good was afoot.

Batman is my fav superhero; I even had some of the old "Detective Comics" featuring the Caped Crusader 'til I left home and my parents threw out my stuff.

Anyhoo, to anyone reading this blog - GO SEE IT! You won't be disappointed...

Cheers,

Ted
