Mauser
I do not understand my cats.
Mauser has suddenly turned from Mr. Standoffish into Mr. Friendly. It used to be that he graced me with his presence only occasionally, hanging out on my bed while I dressed in the morning or sniffing at me while I worked at my computer.
Now he jumps into my lap every chance he gets. Hanging around watching TV? Bam! Chilling at my computer? Bam! On a conference call while working from home? Bam! Eating breakfast? Bam! There he is. Purring, even. Butting at my hands.
He'll sit in my lap at the computer, but he doesn't like it when I start typing. Then he jumps down.
Don't get me wrong. I love the attention. Mauser is a beautiful, silky cat (see photos). I'd be worried that he's sick, but he is in excellent health (glossy coat, slightly damp nose, some meat on him, etc.). Guess I'll just chalk it up to him being inscrutable. I mean, he is a cat, after all.

Well, perhaps male cats function along the same way as human males - he wants something, be it a new toy, catnip, cat tree or whatever. I believe we human males call it the "brownie point system". [LOL]
Cheers,
Ted
