  • What is your idea of perfect happiness?
    Waking up in the morning and realizing I can sleep curled up with the fiancé for a few more minutes. Having time to read. Petting a purring cat.
  • What is your greatest fear?
    Failure.
  • What historical figure do you most identify with?
    I don't. I admire lots of them, but I don't really identify with them.
  • Which living person do you most admire?
    I'm not sure there is a top contender. I tend to admire people who serve others and those who take a stand for what they believe is right.
  • What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
    My problems controlling my spending! ARGH! CREDIT CARDS ARE TEH DEVIL!
  • What trait do you most deplore in others?
    Willful ignorance.
  • What is your greatest extravagance?
    Books. Hands down.
  • On what occasion do you lie?
    I don't. I occasionally don't tell the whole truth when it is politically expedient to do so, but that's it. With people I'm close to, I don't even do that. I'm a big believer in honesty.
  • What do you most dislike about your appearance?
    My cellulite-ridden butt, hips, and thighs. Feh!
  • What is your favorite journey?
    Reading Lord of the Rings.
  • What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
    Faith. I don't think it's a virtue to believe things without evidence.
  • Which living person do you most despise?
    Probably Dick Cheney.
  • Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
    Probably "Dood!" and "Groovie."
  • What is your greatest regret?
    Not spending more time with my grandfathers when they were alive.
  • What or who is the greatest love of your life?
    The fiancé. Duh.
  • When and where were you happiest?
    I'm not sure there's a single time that sticks out. I have lots of very happy moments.
  • Which talent would you most like to have?
    The ability to sketch things I see accurately.
  • What is your current state of mind?
    Sleepy.
  • If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
    My financial acumen (or lack thereof).
  • If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be?
    The Chew tendency to believe that oneself is right irrespective of one's knowledge/experience.
  • If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what would it be?
    I would love to come back as a bookshop cat. Or possibly a librarian.
  • If you could choose what or who to come back as, what would it be?
    A cat or a librarian. :)
  • What do your consider your greatest achievement?
    Surviving graduate school without killing anyone or committing suicide.
  • What is your most treasured possession?
    My library.
  • What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
    Failure.

    Exuberance.
  • What is the quality you most like in a man?
    A smart sense of humor.
  • What is the quality you most admire in a woman?
    Lack of misogyny.

    Loyalty.

    Samwise Gamgee.

    Those who risk their lives to save others.

    Boredom.

    Quietly, in my sleep, at a very old age.
