Meme!

I got interviewed by Trenchy!!!

Meme rules :
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Me, Me!!!" while waving your hand in the air.
2. I will respond by asking you five questions.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
1) I once got a letter addressed to "Lucy McKrackle" and my old roommate still gets the stitches when she thinks of it. What is the worst mispronunciation of your name?
I think the most amazing one is "eschelsticks." I am not joking. A substitute teacher once called that out during roll. The entire class was thrown into chaos.
2) You and I discovered the Red Elvises together. What is your opinion of the group these days? Has your first flush of enthusiasm changed over the years?
Hm... I think the first flush has cooled into a more lasting affection. I still adore their music and go see them live when I can, but I don't always see every single show within a two-hour radius anymore. I just don't have the stamina anymore. I still do the fanzine, of course. And I tried to get them to play at my wedding, but they're going to be on vacation, the bums.
3) What, in your opinion, is the most underrated and unfairly ignored film?
Oh, man, where to start... Now that I attend Cinequest every year, I see a ton of films that never even get distribution. But the one that actually had a shot and got pwned was Monkeybone. Apparently the guy who greenlighted it got fired for some other reason, and the distribution company decided not to spend any money on publicizing it. It was in theaters for a week, if that. It's not a totally mindblowingly awesome film, but it's creative and charming, and way better than most of the dreck that comes out of Hollywood. It stars Brendan Frasier as a cartoonist who gets in an accident, goes into a coma, and winds up trapped in a weird semi-underworld populated with his own creations. It's thoroughly surreal and features John Turturro as a talking monkey wearing a fez (the titular Monkeybone). The cartoonist's difficulties increase when Monkeybone finds a way to hijack his body back in the real world. It's fun! I like it! NOBODY HAS HEARD OF IT!!! ARGH!
4) DId you have a childhood "boogie man"? If so, what was it? If not, a recurrent childhood fear will do.
Hm... I don't think I did. Although E.T. did give me the one nightmare I ever had that I could not wake up from. Mom and Dad were shaking me trying to wake me up and I was screaming and screaming because E.T. was coming to get me and I couldn't get out of bed and run, because he was between me and the door. Horrifying. I still can't watch that damn movie. {{{shudder}}}
5) What is something odd that I don't know about you.
Hee hee hee! Something odd about me.... there are a lot of things. How about this: I am dying to own a Sphynx cat, but feel it is unethical to pay for a cat when there are so many homeless ones out there, so I am planning to adopt one through a Sphynx rescue when we have a house?
Bonus question: What is your favorite Edward Gorey story/poem/rhyme etc?

Okie, for wordweaverlynn:

1) What is the worst book you have ever read all the way through?
2) If you could pick one person to have a superpower, who would it be and what power would you bestow upon them?
3) I am particularly fond of bats, and thus I sponsor one through BatWorld.org. What is your favorite cause and how do you support it?
4) If you had an infinite amount of money to spend on a house and land, what sort of dwelling would you want to have? Where would it be?
5) What is your favorite plant?
