Good grief. Good on the Senate for having a Hindu do the invocation (though I'm against the invocation on principle, I'm glad to see diversity in who does it). Shame on those extremists who embarrassed themselves and their faith by being disruptive.
Nicely sarcastic coverage here. Normal coverage here, including the identity of the protesters.

In order not to succumb to anger, I must feel sorry for those activists, knowing that they will never experience beautiful things as they've chosen a path to intentionally hurt people. I hope then when they become enlightened, it really really hurts.

It's ok Becca you take the high road I'll take the low road.
I can't come up with words angry enough to explain how I feel. America is supposed to be built on platforms of religious freedoms and tolerance and equality and we have this going on in the senate chambers. As a defender of those principles I can't help but feel my hackles up and have a distinct urge to put on my head stompin' boots and let these guys have an idea of what they are supporting.
/simmering anger
I know this kind of thing still happens, I at least thought better of the senate and it's people and the Sergeant at arms who had to be repeatedly reminded to do his fucking job.
Ahem sorry for the righteous outburst, really needed to get that out.
