Starsky and Hutch

Ealasaid/ March 29, 2004/ Movie Reviews and Features

Directed by: Todd Phillips
Starring: Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Juliette Lewis, Snoop Dog
Rated: PG-13 for drug content, sexual situations, partial nudity, language and some violence.
Parental Notes: most of the film is innocuous, and although teens may not get all the 70s references, they’ll probably find it amusing.

In case it’s not clear from the previews, one thing must be made clear from the first: “Starsky and Hutch” was a television show that took itself seriously. The new movie “Starsky and Hutch” does not. At all. Ever, really. This film is a montage of sight gags, riffs on the buddy cop genre, caricatures of the 70s, and scantily-clad attractive people.
The plot, such as it is, revolves around a dangerous new kind of cocaine
