NaNoWriMo
My NaNo Updates Are At My Main Blog Now. Click Here To Be Transported! What is National Novel Writing Month, I hear you ask? It's simple. NaNoWriMo is the month of November, recreated as thirty days of writing INSANITY!!! Mwah-ha-ha-haaaaaaaaaaaaa! Ahem. Sorry, I got carried away a bit there. Basically, NaNoWriMo is where a bunch of maniacs decide to try to write the first draft of a novel in 30 days. It's possible. I've done it five years running - 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 I'm trying again this year. Go me. This is my writing log. Enjoy!

woo! crossed 30k!Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I figured out a way to pad wordcount without stepping outside the story! See today's excerpt. I'm getting a much better feel for the characters this time through. although I'm not at all happy with the narrative flow, I'm starting to enjoy the process more, which is nice. I just really enjoy these characters a lot. I'm not doing a very good job of making their voices sound different, but then, this year's goal has been downshifted from "write 50k words that don't suck" to "reach 50k in spite of dealing with wedding planning and assorted health problems" so it's ok. Basics
Big Goal: 50,000 words written between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30, 2004.
My goals:
The Story: I'm writing a new First Jaspa Novel - originally it was going to be a rework of the one I wrote for NaNo '02, but I finally scrapped that and started fresh. Basically, it's about a girl learning to be a sorcerer and how she and her mentor (the school librarian) hold off an attack on the school.
