Turkeyday!
Wordcount: 38,012
Woo, I got wordcount even on Turkeyday! Go me. I'm still behind, but only by 2k, so that's not too bad. Maybe I can write a little after I get home from feasting with the 'rents. The trick is not to run out of plot. As usual, the lack of a fully formed plot on Nov 1 has translated into not quite enough Stuff to take up 50k words. *sigh*
When Evran woke, he went down to the courtyard to look for the other students, but found no one. Light spilled from one of the doors onto the courtyard, and he went in. Talianna looked up at him as he entered. She was kneeling netx to a cot with a groaning man on it, while the other three students and Roger tried to look unobtrusive.
"Evran, good. This is Gral. He's injured. I need you and Shtaa here to help with the healing. The others will learn by watching - they don't have a fine enough touch to help me with this. Stand there." She pointed across the cot from where she knelt.
"Yes, my lady," Evran said, and Shtaa flapped her wings unsteadily as he quickly moved into position.
"I have to untangle the enchantments that are trying to kill him. They are weaving around his organs, choking the life out of him. Look at him with your magical gaze, can you see them?"
Evran took a deep breath and tried to see what she was talking about. There were indeed glowing threads tangled around the man's insides, and Evran gaped as they tightened and slithered before him. "What do I do?"
"I will do the untangling, but I will need you to hold the ends I free up. You and Shtaa need to create tongs of power, you can't use your hands on these or they will try to attack you as well. Can you do that?"
