Woo, two in one day!

Wordcount: 16,636

Yep, I logged some more writing time, go me. 'course, then I decided that a big chunk (read: almost all) of what I had written needed to come later in the story, but that's okay, right?

The horses thundered into the courtyard, Evran's father in the lead. They slowed down as they neared the tower, and Evran's father drew closer than his men did. He stopped his horse and looked down at the two sorcerers. He was an imperious man, Evran's father, with the same straight black hair and piercing eyes. But where his son was pale he was tan from time spent on the road, and where his son was slender he was bulky and muscular.

"Evran! So those villagers were telling the truth after all."

Evran gave his father a nod of acknowledgement. "Father." He turned to Talianna. "My lady, may I present my father, the Baron of Oakhaven. Father, this is my mistress, the sorceress Talianna."

"Your mistress, eh?" The way his father said it put chills down Evran's spine. "I'd say I'm pleased to meet you, sorceress, but I'm hardly pleased to see the trickster who has stolen my child."
