aka The Pilgrimage
After my two terms at the University of York were finished, I knew I would never forgive myself if I didn't see at least a LITTLE bit of Europe. So, I went to Paris, where I stayed with E, an internet pal of mine, and to Denmark, where I stayed with M, another internet pal of mine. In between, however, I went alone to Luxembourg - where my favorite TV show of all time was filmed. What show is that? Not "Highlander" (although that's a close second), but "Dracula: The Series," which ran for 21 episodes back in 1990-1991 and was filmed on location in Luxembourg.
Armed with a backpacker's backpack (with detachable daypack!) stuffed with clothes and guides, a Eurail pass, and printouts of Laura's DtS pilgrimage (and my trusty Dr. Martin's Airsoles - I wore the same pair of boots the entire six months I was abroad, and they lasted admirably), I headed from Paris to Luxembourg with a great deal of optimism and some money as well. What follows here is a transcription (edited slightly for grammar and stuff like that and filled out with [notes]) of my travel diary from those three very full days walking in the footsteps of the DtS actors. Those three days filled fifteen and a half hand-written pages in my journal, and I took something on the order of eight rolls of film. I'm only sorry I don't have webserver space to show you all the photos I took! The best are included here as illustrations.
