Help Ealasaid raise money for the Office of Letters and Light!

Some of you will have already seen this in my blog/Facebook/Twitter/MySpace/whatever, but hey, cast a broad net, right?
Short version:
I’m raising money for the Office of Letters and Light, the folks who put on National Novel Writing Month (and loads of other fantastic creativity-encouraging programs) every year. Please donate! Even just $5 would be fantastic.

Long version:
As some of you know, I’ve done National Novel Writing Month (aka NaNoWriMo or just NaNo) every year since 2001. What is NaNo, you ask? It’s a month-long bout of insanity where people challenge themselves to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. It’s a chance to lock up our inner editor and just let the creative juices flow! It’s changed lots of people’s lives for the better, giving them greater confidence in their writing skills as well as bragging rights.
And who makes this glorious, wonderful, fantastic event happen every year? A nonprofit called the Office of Letters and Light. They do other things, too — Script Frenzy, when folks write a screenplay in a month, and The Young Writers Program, a K-12 classroom program for youngsters to do NaNo. They’ve raised loads of money to build libraries in impoverished nations. All sorts of great stuff!
So this year, I’ve signed up for the Night of Writing Dangerously fundraiser. I donate to the OLL every year when I sign up for NaNo, but this time I want to do a little extra. NaNo has done a lot for me over the years — helped me find my strengths and weaknesses in fiction writing, entertained me, introduced me to some wonderful people, and it was where I got to know Antwon!
Plus, if I can raise $200 by November 10th, I get to go to the Night of Writing Dangerously — a six-hour event where folks gather to work on their novels for NaNo, eat, drink, and generally have a ton of fun. I heard oodles of great things about it last year, and am thrilled at the opportunity to go. If I get to go, I’ll be liveblogging the event (basically, every 1000 words or so I’ll post a little something and maybe a photo or two as well).
All I need from you is a donation. $1, $5, $25 whatever you want to give, I’ll take it! What do you get for your donation? Mostly, the warm fuzzies of doing good even when times are tight. Plus, if I get to go to the Night of Writing Dangerously, I’ll email you the updates to my blog, as well as a detailed report including how many words I wrote and a nice, long excerpt of text written at the event. My blog readers won’t get the report or excerpt, only donors get that!

Thanks so much in advance!
