Hello, World!
I’ve been posting articles in my Knowledge Base for a while now, but I’d kinda like a place to blog again. I’m still active over on Tumblr, but it’s a third party site and this is my own little domain, which I like.
Running across the idea of web0 / smallweb / indieweb made me miss my blog! So here I am. We’ll see whether I manage to keep this up. I give so, so far fewer fucks about a lot of things than I did back when I was blogging regularly.
I really like the idea of web0. I miss what the web was like back then!
My personal website (and The Book Roadie) is hosted by a webhosting company (shoutout to Pair.com, who have been my host since like 2005 or something) because I am techsavvy but not willing to do the work of learning how to host my own server. My host helps me install and update things like WordPress, which are really handy. So I’m not going all the way back to rolling my own any time soon. A content management system is a nice thing to have.
This probably makes me not a web0 purist, but I think that’s okay. Purity politics are gross and are everywhere I look these days.
