Yeah, I can totally get behind this. For one thing, most Americans seem to see things in terms of black and white, right and wrong, etc. There are no gray areas, only Facts and The Right Way To Feel About Them. The words “it’s a fact that…” rankle me something fierce. A fact is just something you can prove right or wrong, it’s not necessarily true or even worth paying attention to. Grrr!
