I was emailing with my training partner and realized that not only have I commmitted to showing up early twice a week to class for the forseeable future so he and I can practice for my test, but the only thing that will be keeping me off the mat, schedule-wise, for at least a month is movie screenings. I have cleared out my weeknights.
Sure, there are Blogger get-togethers and that sort of thing, but I figure I’ll show up for those after class is over.
This means that except for this week, when I’m going to a Neil Gaiman book signing, I am planning on training four nights a week. It’s like the good old days! It’s amazing what slow but consistent work in one direction can accomplish. If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be working full time as a tech writer and not tutoring on weeknights, I would have laughed at you.
