PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 3.15

This week’s Monday Mission.

1. When I was a kid, I used to always get Strep Throat. I seemed to get it every year. Are there any illnesses that you seem more susceptible to than others?
Hm… I get colds with disturbing ease, especially when I’m stressed. When I was in grad school, I spent the entire winter down with a string of colds. It totally sucked.

2. A recent poll stated that “Michael” and “Ashley” are the number one baby names in New York. (However, in Oklahoma it seems like there are two or three girls named “Madison” everywhere you go). What are your favorite boy and girl names? What names do you think are trendy or overused? If you have children, would you give them the same name if you had another chance?
Hm… I haven’t given it much thought, really. There are a lot of Jennifers and Mikes in my generation, which gets annoying. Right now I know four gals named Jennifer, and three of them go by “Jen.” Argh.
My favorite names tend to be off-kilter ones – Crispin, Melisande, etc.

3. Any current songs on the radio (or elsewhere) that you think are pure crap? Why don’t you like it?
I don’t listen to the radio much, except to classic rock stations, so … um … yeah. I have a genial dislike for most modern pop music. I don’t actively dislike most alternarock, but I don’t like it either. *shrug* I have weird taste in music, what can I say?

4. Can you (now or in your youth) play any musical instruments? Do you still play?
I played French Horn for years and years, and prolly still would if Mom hadn’t gone through a phase of making me perform every time I turned around. My horn seized up when I went to England, and I haven’t gotten it repaired. That was… what, back in ’99.

5. What is the most recent self-improvement program (fitness, weight loss, learning something new) that you began? Did you stick with it? Why or why not?
Well, I sort of casually decided to do “some sort of exercise” at least four days a week – walking the dog, Aikido, exercises, whatever. I’ve been doing it off and on. It’s hard to fit exercise into my daily routine when I don’t have a daily routine, you know?

6. How would you look in a Hooters uniform?
Um.. will I sound lame if I say that I don’t know what one looks like?

7. Have you ever had a dream where you interacted with a celebrity (sex or otherwise)? What happened?
God, plenty. None that I remember in enough detail to recount, though.

BONUS: Do you believe in love, do you believe it’s true?
Yes, and yes. :D
