Hm… hard to say. I’d probably have to flip a coin or something – I can think of half a dozen people who would be cheesed off if I didn’t call them first. :) - What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
A really nice laptop. And a digital camera. - What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
I’d buy Jen and Alex some kickass furniture for after they move in to their new place. - Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
It’s only a mil, right? So probably not. I’d be more inclined to… - Do you invest any? If so, how?
I’d invest whatever was left after taxes and the abovementioned expenditures in something very, very boring and hopefully very very tax-sheltered. T-bills or something. With luck, I’d be able to just live off the interest and focus on getting my writing career going instead of having to work so many different jobs to pay the bills. :)
