Squee! I rock!

LOOKIE!!! I ROCK! OMG! YAY! My good buddy ETS totally nominated me! Squeee! She said very nice things about me, too:

Recently married and a Potter Purist, Ealasaid always makes me laugh, and she is terrific moral support in my ongoing efforts at weight loss. Sometimes I forget that we met while on the mailing list for the Vin Diesel Estrogren Brigade!

Squee!

Now, the way this works is that I’m supposed to pass the torch to five rockin’ girl bloggers. Not an easy task to pick just five of the female bloggers I read. More importantly, am I supposed to pick five rockin’ girl bloggers who read my blog? Cos there are a bunch of rockin’ girl bloggers whose blogs I read who don’t read my blog – Naamah, Mistress Matisse, and Nasubionna, to name just a few. But if I reserve it to only gals whom I am pretty sure read my blog (and I can’t nominate ETS cos she nominated me, darnit), that gives us:

  • Marn – Marn is the one of awesomest people know over the age of 50. She works out, is a hosta-holic, does gardening projects that involve backhoes, and is an absolutely hysterically funny blogger. Seriously. Check her out, you won’t regret it.
  • Junglemonkee – I feel very lucky to have met Junglemonkee. She is super-cool. She lives in the mountains, raises chickens for eggs and meat, and does NaNoWriMo. She also used to run one of my favorite podcasts, Satellite of Grace. She’s one of the coolest moms I know, and that means a lot coming from a kid-phobic person like me.
  • Trenchwench – I met Trenchie back in college when we took Latin and Greek together. She is awesome. She rides a crotchety old sidecar bike, volunteers at an aquarium, is a rugby fan, and writes interesting and thoughtful things about stuff like boxing and motorcycle maintenance. I miss her a lot, and wish we’d hung out more when we were in college. Now she lives two states away, darnit.
  • Joie de Livre – I’ve known Joie since high school, when she was one of the people I thought were super-cool – not in the jocks-and-cheerleaders-cool-clique way, in the omg-I-wanna-be-like-that-where-does-she-find-those-boots? kind of way. She’s the hippest librarian I’ve ever known and is a blast and a half to hang with. Her journal is full of the same stuff that makes her fun to hang with – humor, snarky commentary, and eccentricity.
  • Elkit – Elke is one of the friends I’ve made through the South Bay Weblogger’s Meetup (first Tuesday of the month at Coffee Society in Cupertino! Be there or be square!). Her blog is full of everything from song lyrics to recipes, and you can tell it’s cool because I read it semi-regularlyeven when she didn’t have an RSS feed (Elke, thank you for putting one on there! YAY!).

There ya go, ladies! Feel free to pick up the meme now that you’ve been tagged! :D
