PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 2.50

1. So, what do you want for Christmas this year that you probably won’t get?
A plush Cthulhu.

2. What do you know you will be receiving for Christmas this year?
Something cool from Jen; other than that, I’ve no idea.

3. If you had the means to do so, what presents would you get some of your fellow bloggers? Be specific, it’s more fun that way!
Hm…

  • Antwon is almost impossible to shop for from what I know of him. Bastard already has all kinds of weird stuff. I have one or two ideas forming in the back of my mind, though.
  • I’d get BeerMary DSL.
  • Cathryn already has the Spiderman DVD, so if I were boundlessly powerful I’d get her Willem Dafoe. (Don’t think me selfless; he’d arrive on her doorstep a little used, I suspect. ;-)
  • I’d get Nin a year-long pass to Disneyland. :)
  • Ith would get a season pass to Disneyland as well so she could go along.
  • Raven I’d probably give the ability to fast-forward through the unpleasant bits so she wouldn’t have to put up with stuff like the last several weeks ever again.
  • Wil Wheaton would receive better luck at finding GeoCaches.
  • Dunno what I’d get The Fool – maybe more time to update?
  • That’s definitely what Shelley would get. :)
  • Sarah T would receive the Smallville DVDs.
  • Geekychick would get… hm… I’ve no idea. Maybe a huge gift certificate for Mac merchandise.
  • I’d probably get Marn a whole wad of my favorite loud CDs for workout purposes.
  • I’d give Melisander a zillion dollars so she could do art and the other things she loves all the time and wouldn’t have to worry about money.

4. Do you support any organizations that provide for the less fortunate during the holidays? Or do any volunteer work?
Not really. I usually get roped into bellringing for the Salvation Army, but that’s about it.

5. Each year about this time, I notice Church attendance seems to spike, then drops off sharply after Christmas. It tickles me that these folks think they are pulling a fast one on the Big Guy. What is the most recent thing guilt has motivated you to do?
Guilt? Not sure. I try not to let guilt run my life, man.

6. According to the commercials, the only way to truly tell someone you love them on Christmas day is to let them “Unwrap a Jaguar” automobile. Are there any examples of excessive commercialism and/or blatant disregard for the “Christmas Spirit” that really get under your skin?
Pretty much all of them annoy me at least a little. [grumble]

7. I remember a song where the singers wished they could teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony. What would you like to teach the world?
To really listen for a change. That includes myself; I don’t always listen as well as I might.
